Because we had a rat chew the wiring in our SUV, I installed ultrasonic/LED rat chasers under the hood in it and in my classic 1994 pickup truck. I don’t drive the truck much – for example, only 173 miles in 2022, so I wasn’t charging my battery much either. I didn’t think about the fact that even the tiny current from the rat chasers would drain the battery down enough that the truck wouldn’t start. So, I initially thought I might need a new truck battery. I got this tester and it confirmed that the battery was good and only needed charging.The tester is quite easy to use. I went around testing every auto/marine/lithium battery we have. It handles them all.

Its simplicity is its best quality. Just follow the on-screen instructions, and you get what looks like an accurate assessment of your battery. I had a quirky battery issue, and I noted that the voltage was dropping to about 10V under a small load. The tester said to replace because of a bad cell. This made perfect sense from watching a voltmeter under use. For its price, it is a great piece of equipment.
