[Part Finder Guide 01] How to Find the Correct Parts: Search by Keywords or OEM Number
Estimated reading time: 4 минуты
Welcome to CARS724.COM! The fastest way to find the part you need is to use our search bar. Whether you know the part name or have an old part number in hand, our search tool is designed to get you to the right product in seconds.
In this guide, we’ll show you two powerful search methods:
- Keyword Search – when you know what the part is called.
- OEM/Part Number Search – when you have the original number from your old part.
Let’s dive in!
1. Where to Find the Search Bar
The search bar is located at the top of every page on our website. Just look for the long box.

Click inside the box, type your search term, and press Enter on your keyboard.
2. Search by Keywords (Part Name)
If you know the name of the part you need (e.g., “steering angle sensor”, “lambda sensor”, “exhaust gas temperature sensor”), keyword search is your friend.
What to Do After You Search
Once you hit enter, you’ll see a list of matching products. Don’t stop there– Based on the product’s physical shape, you need to quickly narrow down the options, and then verify whether the product’s compatible vehicle models match your specific vehicle.
3.Search by OEM / Part Number (The Most Accurate Method)
Every original car part has a unique number assigned by the manufacturer. This is called the OEM number (Original Equipment Manufacturer number) or simply part number. If you have this number, you can find an exact match – every time.
What Does an OEM Number Look Like?
OEM numbers are usually a combination of letters and numbers, for example:
- 12345-ABCDE
- 6R0 123 456
- A 000 123 45 67
Where to Find the OEM Number
- On the old part itself (often stamped into the plastic or metal).
- On the packaging of the replacement part you bought before.
- In your vehicle’s service manual or maintenance records.
- Sometimes on your repair invoice from a garage.

How to Search by OEM Number
Type the full number into the search bar exactly as it appears (including spaces or dashes – our system can handle both).
Hit Enter.
You will be taken directly to the product page for that specific part, or to a short list of exact matches. That’s it – no guesswork!
Pro tip: If you have multiple numbers (e.g., the old part number and a new superseded number), try each one. Our database often cross-references supersessions.
4.What If Your Search Returns No Results?
Don’t worry – it happens! Here’s what you can do:
Check for typos – OEM numbers can be tricky. Make sure you didn’t confuse 0 (zero) with O (the letter), or 1 with I.
Try a different name – Some parts have multiple names. For example, “exhaust gas temperature sensor” might also be called “EGT sensor” or “EGTS”.
Check for typos – OEM numbers can be tricky. Make sure you didn’t confuse 0 (zero) with O (the letter), or 1 with I. Or try to type in OEM numbers without spaces or dashes
5. After You Find the Part – Don’t Forget to Double-Check Fitment
Even if the part number matches, we always recommend verifying that the part fits your specific vehicle. Look for the “Vehicle Compatibility” list.
